(1C)--1D--(2D)--3M

2D is a limit raise so in theory 4th hand is likely weakish.

1- JSF
2- forcing
3- NF but stronger than 2M
4- preemptive
5- other

do you switch according to vul ?
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

5/6 - Fit, for me. No idea what "standard" is, but not sure why I'd want it anything else.
"I suggest a chapter on "strongest dummy opposite my free bids." For example, someone might wonder how I once put this hand down as dummy in a spade contract: AQ10xxx void AKQxx KQ. Did I start with Michaels? Did I cuebid until partner was forced to pick one of my suits? No, I was just playing with Brian (6S made when the trump king dropped singleton)." David Wright

I play it as a fit jump, 2M would be natural F1.

Anyway, since I am broke, I pass.

IMO, preemptive because 4th hand is always weakish.

2M = NF lead directional and possible place to play.
3M = reasonable suit preemptive.

the meanings don't change just the requirements to make the bids.
for ex QJT9x and out is a reasonable 2M NVUL vs VUL but at
unfavorable KQJ9x should pretty much be the minimum for a 2M.

I should have written that JSF = jump show fit. Wich is my preference for jump to 3M. Qxxxx,x,Qxxxx,xx is a perfect example. You dont want to defend 3Nt and 4S may be a winner.

I dont really understand those who play 2M as forcing, Hxxxxx happen all the time and lead you to great saves. When vul or at MP I do have some sympathy for 2M as lead directing.

I'm used to seeing it in the other order, FJS(fit jump shift).

yeah your probably right.

Passed Hand Jump Show Fit

Passed Hand Fit Showing Jump

Passed hand Fit Jump Shift.

probably the 3rd one is better.
