I lack the imagination for a C lead, which may well blow a trick. I guess the C lead was right else you would not have posted this.

I think they are ready for heart lead. Cynical soul that I am...planning to cash first two clubs.

If you have the specific agreement that a double of 5H means "I changed my mind, I don't want a heart led," then you have a reason to go ahead and lead a heart.

Lacking that agreement (and even with my regular partner I dont have that agreement) I voted for a club.

Club K. They are apparently off an ace, or the Q of trump, or they would have probably bid 5N; I want to establish our 2nd trick before they knock out the keycard they are missing.

Edit: I'm an idiot, that may not be what's happening at all. I'm still leading club K.

I have the agreement described where X of 5 would mean don't lead my suit, although partner might forget if he thinks they are heading to a club slam, but a nt slam has to seem possible.

I'd lead the . I'm not sure it should matter much since I can imagine the 6 bidder has something like 1174 or 1183 or Kx=173, obviously with diamonds headed by the AKQ and on these holdings neither a heart lead nor a club lead ought to be terrible.

I don't have too much imagination, but seeing partner with KJ and dummy with AJxx(x), xx(x) is not that hard

For a club lead to be necessary, declarer must be able to throw his clubs on spades, but not be able to throw his spades on clubs. It's hard to picture a layout where that's happening.

I'd lead a heart.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
