I voted for 3♦ but it's not "because it's my 2nd suit". It's the cheapest of my suits. For example, if the auction goes 1♠-2♣-2♦-2♥, then 2♠ (my first suit) is the catchall bid.
I prefer this style, but I won't claim it's better or worse than any alternative.
