Recently, I've had a set of advertisements come up directly over my hands when I am playing and bidding. This makes me want to stop using BBO and find another platform. This has happened in casual and teaching tables.

It's not that the ads are in bad taste, just that they directly interfere with my enjoyment of the play of the game.

This is more of a notification to the owners of BBO than a forum topic.

Change back to less invasive advertising.

I played with 3 other people a few days ago, and most or all of us were experiencing the same thing. It was difficult to concentrate on the hands when these ads were interrupting several times on each deal. I sent an email to BBO Customer Support. The gist of the response was,

If advertisements appear to be covering or overlapping the game area, the issue is typically caused by browser extensions or other external programs rather than the platform’s native advertisement system.

Since we only see these intrusive ads on BBO, it seems unlikely that it is caused by something completely unrelated to BBO.

For the time being I have solved the problem by installing the uBlock Origin Lite ad blocker extension in Chrome.

There have already been several threads about this. As we've said, this is not intentional, it's due to bad advertisers. Please send screenshots to support@bridgebase.com so we can try to block them.
