Reply from a lower level player:
My partner and I would have replied 3S or maybe even 4S because our modified losing trick count is 7.5
To answer the question:
If we make a game try, it shows a good hand and asks for help in that suit. With 3 losing clubs we would have to bid 3S.
I know this method tells the opps to lead clubs but my partner likes it.
Since this combo was mentioned a 2nd time, and to clarify, what I mean by combo I repeat the combo
in my own words
#1the simple raise was deemed insufficient, instead a limit raise or bidding game was suggested,
bidding game with the intention to make, not as preemptive raise
#2after the game try, we feel our hand is not strong enough, although partner showed
additional
strength, which he promised, by making the game try
This is a combo I dont understand. For starters, sometimes, partner makes a gametry, but it is not pure
in the sense, that a help suit trial showes a suit with 3 loosers, he had to choose a suit to make
the try, lets say he is unbal., club is the lowest suit, and he wants to know, when we are not dead min,
if we have a suit with val., which may or may not fit.
And also given that we are max. for our raise, there is a mild chance, that we make the game contract on
power.
