3s. This is conform the law. 3ha is more scientific but it probably has no effect other than to discourage a heart lead. But I am happy with a heat lead so just 3s.

Both 3♥ and 3♠ would have been great, I found neither but did not think double would be left in.

On this auction double of 3♦ should promise a defensively oriented hand, and leaving it in is fairly common. If you really wanted to play in some number of spades you had 3♥ or 3♠ available.
South should move over 3♦ immediately, rather than pass. That is a very nice hand on the auction.

I would have bid 2NT (4 card support, INV) rather than 2♦ and now it's all up to partner.
