Who will win the 2016 World Championship? At what stage? What were the best games?

When I heard yesterday that a Russian chess player killed himself falling from a balcony, I thought he must have lost that last game. Glad to see otherwise.

Surely the speed-play rating differences will tell, now, and it's a bit meaningless. Pity they don't play the golden goal rule, or some variation on that such as a clear +1.

Like in soccer. Leading a long time 1-0, then equalizer by avoidable mistake shortly before the end......and losing 1-2 in overtime

12 straight draws sucks in any kind of competition.

The rules need to be changed to greatly lessen the chances of a draw.

Players are now allowed 2.5 minutes per move for the first 60 moves.

Make it 2.0 minutes per move and see what happens.

I thought the 12 draws was fascinating, to be honest, and didn't see anything wrong with it at all. If anything, it was a shame it had to be decided by quicker and quicker formats. They were exciting draws - would have loved to see them keep going and going. (Though had the tiebreak format not been in play, Magnus would have won that 12th game.)
