I'm thinking of using 2N in 4th seat and possibly 3rd seat as natural and strong...giving up relays for the sake of preventing a contested auction. What do others think? Would you be comfortable with 20-21? (this would make our 1C-1D, 1N 18-19) or even 21-22? How often do you think we'd be missing slam when responder has a shapely max? (partner is limited to 10 hcps). Are these slams we could likely find even?

We had a hand in the last JEC match where they opened 2N in 3rd seat at the other table and we opened 1C...which allowed a devastating lead direct in 3rd seat. The best we could manage was making a part score while the other table produced a 3N making game.
