I mean, sure. There's a risk. Whether 3NT is serious or non-serious, some auctions move more smoothly if you fudge. I like serious because it allows flexibility to fudge tactically better, IMO. Especially if you have an allowance for a"serious" call with control rich minimums. Non-serious seems to minimize fudging tactically unless you are in the grand zone.
