With xxx, xxx, void, AKQxxxx, Vul. vs. not, GIB opened 3C in first seat. I responded 3D. What should GIB's action be? I would contend 3NT, since the C suit rates to run opposite a singleton. 4C certainly couldn't be too highly criticized. The actual call? 4D????????? Raising with a void instead of rebidding its own solid suit? Insane may be too kind.

Wow, this might be the weirdest I've seen.

Thanks for reporting.

Will be fixed in v31.

Still, by the way 4 doesn't promise something great as fit. GIB says 1+ card, not 3/4+. Book bid is 5, but have in mind 3 shows nice suit with 6+ headed by AKQ or 7+ with 4/5 top honors.

Who says 3D shows that? It shows a good suit and is forcing, searching for the best contract. If GIB does not bid 3NT with this hand, when does it?

Unfortunately, GIB does. The description says "strong rebiddable". This is part of what needs changing.

If responder has strong diamonds and both majors stopped, he would just bid 3N. To bid 3D suggests that 3N may not be the right spot. Opener having no guard in either major should expect at least one of them to be wide open. So not rebidding 3N is perhaps forgivable.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

A valid point, but another reason for responder not bidding 3NT is lack of a C fit. Imagine my hand opposite KQJTxxx in Clubs, the dummy provides no tricks instead of likely 7, and 4C is the last makeable spot, at least with a Spade lead. It may be too much to expect a robot to distinguish AKQxxxx or better from other 3m preempts, but I would expect a human partner to do so.

GIB doesn't but most serious partnership use 3 conventionally. 3 natural isn't very useful, where you gonna end up
