As for the North hand, that is a headache. Pass, Double, 5♦, 5♥ - they could all be right. Looking at the West hand, though, it seems that pass by North is the winning action.

Looking at the North hand makes 4♠ certainly the right bid for West.

♠Q984
♥AK
♦AKQJT98
♣-
and the auction beginning on your left runs
(2♥) - 4♠ - (P). What do you bid?
The problem with bidding 4♠ is that it does not just say "I want to play there", it also shows a big hand.

5N GSF WTP, 6 is a touch over 50%, exchange the 4♠ for the Q♥ and he has a bigger problem.

You are gonna kill me one day in front of my pc.
I was one of the players in BBO juniors and my pd held this hand. She bid 4♣ they bid 4♦, i passed, preempter bid 5♦ and my pd bid 5♠ with this, of course they doubled, i will not say the outcome for the sake of topic.

There is a bit more room for bidding when our suit is spades vs hearts. (2h3s) (3h 4s) (2s 4h) all show big hands
because of the jump over the preempt. But 2h 4s leaves some lattitude for the 4s bidder the have a much weaker
hand that still desires game. and over 2h 4s the monster hand presented would just bid 5n and go down 1 (in 6s)
when the opps had the spade AK (unfortunate).
On the given hand however i still prefer 4c showing clubs and spades since the clubs are so much better than the
spades and slam is still possible in clubs even when 6s has no chance. Spades is indeed our most likely game
but clubs very easily can be our most likely slam.

I think it is pretty much time to say the outcome.
I must admit that now I disagree with my bid of 3♥ but that's what happened at the table and 4♠x+1 was the score which was mostly seen on all the tables.
