It's that time of year again, the holidays. For me it's quite special because right afterwards I have my birthday (29 this year, I'm getting old).

So, here are my 12 wishes for BBO.

My first wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
A world championship or NABC for Fred. No one is more deserving.

My second wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
A set of ergonomic gloves for Uday, for all the insane work he does to make this work. That, and maybe more money in his payday.

My third wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
An end to all the irregularity that happens in tourneys, where players of all creeds come together and actually play bridge, instead of bickering and being the first to point the finger of blame.

My fourth wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
A reassessment of the "expert" self-label tag so many placed on themselves undeservedly so, and a return of honestly in skill.

My fifth wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
NO MORE DISCONNECTS!!!! No more bailing when the team game's lost, no more "outta here" when our partner makes a mistake, and no more red boxes!

My sixth wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
An introduction to speech recognition software to be fused into BBO for bidding and play. Not many people know this, but I use this function a great deal in my normal computing.

My seventh wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
More goodies to buy, more software to experience.

My eighth wish for BBO that is very true to me:
An improved convention card; I'm using up all the room and it's just not enough!!!

My ninth wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
More good players, giving back to the beginners and intermediates, who so very much want to be better and to learn the good habits needed to be better. Fifth Chair would LOVE to have the ability of saying: "We have a mentor for you.", instead of having to wait for one.

My tenth wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
Gimme more, more, more VuGraph! Gimme more alerts in VG, gimme all the commentary we can handle!

My eleventh wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
An easier way to edit LIN files and maybe more features in Partnership Bidding.

My twelvth, and last wish for BBO, that is very true to me:
A trashing of the attitude, and a welcoming of true friendship and community. A scorn for the "lesson givers" and the rudeness, and a champion of active ethics. A earnest recruitment of youth into the game, and a bold effort to reach the seasoned citizens who left the game because of its semi-hostile environment. In essence, a rebirth of the true reason we play this game: We enjoy the challenge of it, along with its people.
"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " - M. Ali

Mike Lawrence just came out with the new
COUNTING AT BRIDGE volume 2

Its fantastic (Im up to hand 30 out of 100, plus it has bidding quizes and convenmtions).
Its like getting 10 hours of very good, well done Bridge lessons for $35.

(Imagine buying Mike Lawrence a cup of Coffee for 90 cents and having him give you 15 minutes of Bridge lessons)
