All vul imps. We're needing some help over on the non-natural forum for the following hand. What does it do in each of the following scenarios?
1. 1C (16+) P 1D ? 1H or 2H?
2. 1C (16+) P 1H (5-7 hcps any shape) ? Pass, double or 2H?
3. 1D (12-18 likely natural) P 1S (natural and nf) ? Pass or 2H?
Thanks

I'd bid 2H on the first and second auction. They have not exchanged any distributional information so it seems like a good time to take away some room. I don't like my suit for this vulnerability but you can't have it all.
On the third auction I would like to know how strong 1S is, NF is not a complete description. I'd bid 2H regardless, we could easily miss a game if I pass.

Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

The first two depend on agreements. If my partner can expect me to have 2-and-a-bit defensive tricks for a PRE jump bid then I'd bid 2H - but I don't think my regular pard would, so I'd bid 1H on the first and 2H on the second (to eat room).
On the third I think 2H is clear.

2♥ on all 3 for me.
It might go for -800 on a bad day, but there's no need to hold back on a hand with good offensive potential, especially since it's likely to make their auction harder.

I believe the correct auction for 3 is:
1♦ = (9)10-17, 4+ diamonds, unbal
... - 1♠ = 4+ spades, weak, non-forcing (5)6-9(10), possible canape
That is, the opening bid can be light and is limited to 17. The response is limited to hands that cannot invite, up to a baddish 10.
