I'm currently unable to sign on to the forums. I've verified that the exact same password works for logging in to BBO, but I always get an "incorrect username or password" message from the forums. Also, the username and password are saved in my browser, so they obviously worked at some point in the past, and I'm not aware of having changed anything.

Passwords are case sensitive for the Forums.

Easy, I used a computer where I'm still signed in. But I can't sign in on another computer.

I'm pretty sure I've always used the same capitalization. Nevertheless, I tried a few others (not quite all), and I still can't sign in.

You can go into your profile thingee while logged in and change your password if you like. That way, you will know what it is and how the capitalization is given. As an adminstrator, I could change your password and tell you what the new one is, but then I would ask you to change it yourself anyway I do not have access to what your password is however (that is, I can not read your current password). Since I would want you to change it anyway, it seems best if you just handle this all yourself. Should you end up getting locked out after you change it, email me at inquiry at bridgebase dot com.

Actually, the opposite is true. As an administrator, I am unable to change my password from within the forums. I have to go to the administrative software where the forums are setup and change mine. You just need to click around in the my profile section until you find the right place. However, I did note in the help section (search "help" for password) that you will need to know your current password to change your existing password. Sigh.

In reading the help, I found this:

This means that we cannot email your password to you as we hold no record of your 'uncrypted' password. You can however, apply to have your password reset.

To do this, click on the Lost password link found on the log in page.

You have to change your BBO password. The forum password is linked to that.

Or, if you don't want to change your BBO pw, email support to ask what your pw is? And then you can use it in BBO or BBF.
(Note, you don't need to know what your BBO PW is to change it, if you have it saved. You need to enter BBO, then click on your profile to change it)

Well I've managed to fix it by changing my BBO password twice, but I'm still puzzled as to why it happened in the first place.

I don't need to find out what password my browser had saved, I knew that all along... I am not quite old enough to be forgetting my passwords yet.
