You got the explanation that 4NT showed both minors. How do you rate your opening bid and your rebid?

Bonus question: Does it make a difference if opps say it could be any two suits, or if they don't know exactly?

I would double 5 not really interested on playing hearts, don't expect very good breaks. Sadly not an option on the poll :(

Pretty obvious 4 opener. Now pass. One unilateral action per deal is plenty, even for me :D

If I bid 5-something and pard is waiting in the bushes with a 44 minors and some hcp, the judge will ilibate him for murdering me LOOOOL.

I think 5 is a bad bid. But it's not the sort of bad bid that noone ever makes, I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

I would double 5, to show extra offence and extra defence. If partner passes, it's quite likely that we'll get 500. It wouldn't surprise me to find that we can make 5, either.
