I'd start with a double, no other bid clearly describes this hand, and although 3N could work, I'll leave those to Brad Moss :)

3N, bring it on

hey I didn't know you played bridge Aberlour :)
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

3N seems horrible, partner could have 5 or 6 of a red suit, or he could be passing 2S X (unlikely but possible depending on who LHO is). If you want to bid 3N I don't see why you wouldn't X and then bid 3N so that partner can at least bid 4H with 5+ of them.

I would double and expect to win the hand against 4 out of 5 BBOers that claim expert in their profile, always against Shubi (he doesn't have the spade Ace and is on a hook for the Queen) and should bid only 2 (if I could) against the rest but I'll risk 3 until I switch to decaf.

If the moderator thinks I'm trashing Shubi, he is a personal friend that I think would agree with this.

Dbl is easy enough on this round at any scoring. I don't hate 3NT, but it's a total crap shoot. Much tougher decision will come next round depending on what P does. B)

Hi,

3C.

It is either X or 3C, since I have a good 6 card suit, I am choosing
3C, the king of spades makes is unlikely that p is sitting on a trap
pass.

With kind regards

Double is the middle of the road action for now.
Surely, you want to keep all options open and keep the bidding low.
Bidding 3NT could work but you are praying that your side has a spade stopper.
In addition, you are praying the club suit can come in.
If you keep asking for this much from your fairy godmother she is going to abandon you.
