I think 3S then shifting suit is more powerful, and more in line with this holding then a takeout dbl, followed by moving in clubs.

So i bid 3S now, and am certainly aiming for 6C.

With my partner's likely stack in hearts, he'll have to get the message after

2S 3S p 4H
p 5C

I'm not sold on bidding 6C directly over 4H, as my partner might have

Will he get the picture, or will he think you are cue-bidding in support of hearts?

3S doesn't promise hearts the way an original double would, thats why I start with 3S instead of dbl.

I have to have a way to show this hand, and this seems like the best way.

It seems as if 3S means whatever we want it to mean, depending on what we are holding at the time.

trolling a bridge forum aside, 3S shows a mountain, which is what we have here.

That's nice, but some have already said they play 3S as a simple stopper asking bid. Others Play it as some form of Michaels. And a third group likes good hand with minors.

So, if we don't think random big hand is our style we are trolling?

I join the 3 NT bidders....

I have always a six pack with me to apologisze after each bid which did not work. And I can buy a new one after the round.
Kind Regards

Not for me. 3S would be a stopper ask.

Cant we accept that for rduran in his partnerships it shows a mountain? Then for his partnerships it is certainly a reasonable bid. Cant heard anyone present a reasonable reason for 6 though. (In those other threads I mean.)
