Scoring: MP

1,P, P, DBL
P, 2, P, 2NT
all pass

Just for fun. LHO leads 9 (0 or 2 higher). The K is on side but not doubleton, and 's don't break 3-3. What layout do you need to find to make 9 or even 10 tricks? :D

Setup diamond suit - good chance to 2/3 additional tricks.
Pass is my lovely bid!

I had a household catastrophe last week and completely forgot about this hand. Anyway, LHO's actual hand was Q109xxx, J9, AK, K102. The play is more complex than this, but the bottom line is you can play Q from hand and pin the 87 with RHO by leading the 9 on the 2d round. You can also drop LHO's J9 and finesse against RHO's 10.

The hand was played at a small club game and no one made 10 tricks, but a couple did make 9. just thought the position was interesting. :)
