How do you reach 6 Spades? How to choose from 2 fits?

I believe that the USA currently hold only the World Championship For People Who Still Bid Like Your Auntie Gladys - dburn
dunno how to play 4 card majors - JLOGIC
True but I know Standard American and what better reason could I have for playing Precision? - Hideous Hog

Getting to 6S I have no idea but I suspect it starts with 1S 2C* artificial GF followed by relays.
Honestly if I got to 4H I would expect to win imps more often than lose them (against people in 5H). If people get to 6S, wd they have good methods.

And C:AKJ for two H-pitches or lucky H's.
OK, I prefer to be in 6S, but not worth fretting this one.

1s normal
2h normal
2s this usage of catchall will allow you to show GOOD 6/7 spade suit and heart support.
3c normal
4h delayed support makes the 2s bid stand out as a good 6/7 spade suit.
5c normal
6h 2nd round control dia
6s you know the spades are decent not quite as sure about the hearts

1♠ 2♥
2♠ 2NT
3♥ 4♣
4♦ 4NT
5♦ 5♥
2♠ = catch all with min hands (can be 5 cards only)
2NT = art, shows extras and slam interest
3♥ = min 3 card support
4♣ = serious cue bid

How about:
1♠-2♥
3♥(I have a fit)-3♠(honor cue)
3NT(serious)-4♣(control)
4♦(Last Train)-4NT(RKCB)
5♦(one)
West should find this curious. Opener has only one control but is serious?!?!? He MUST have the trump Ace, diamond King, and a trick source in spades. With the club trick source, and diamond Q-J, 6NT or 6S seems right.

For me, 1S-2H-3H-3S is revealing a doublefit. I also think it is more valuable to play it natural that way so that both sides get to know of the doublefit and can use that information for their bidding decisions.

Then, if Justin were opener, and you were responder, getting to 6♠ would be easy

I was talking about the auction 1S-2H-3H-3S, not really the OP hand. Maybe I should have started a new thread...too late for that.

Hey, I think most people play as you play (3S double fit). I am only a very recent convert to 3S cuebid, but I now think it's better. Obviously you can play either way and do fine.

I'm going to choose the 2S rebid showing 6+... because
this leaves room for Responder to rebid 2NT, 3C or 3D in the event
that s/he can't support Spades... then I could show my Ht support:
- - - 1S
2H! - 2S
2NT/3C/3D - 3H
But Responder does have Sp support.. AND is strong enough for
"Last Train" :
- - - 1S
2H! - 2S
3S - 4D! (mixed Ctrl cue; no Cl Ctrl )
4H! ( last train ) - 4NT ( RKC for Sp )
5H ( 2 - sQ ) - 6S

Assuming that's supposed to be 2533, one would bid 3NT (non-serious).
If you play Serious 3NT, this hand is another good reason to change your methods.
