If you are downgrading for that you are surely upgrading for the heart ten, the 5 card suit, and the great controls.
But anyway casino/pearson points (aka rule of 15) specifically mention high card points at any links I can find.

the Rule of 15 is for marginal openers, you have 12HCP, AK in a suit,
why should this be a marginal opener?
