Scoring: IMP

Hello, this is the seventeenth thread in the big poll. Please provide the most probable result after East opens 1 and you either

a) pass
b) double
c) bid 2.

Please do a cross imp result like:

a-b:
a-c:
b-c:

(a-c means the imps a wins over c)

Thanks :) Please try to do all 30 hands also :)

I don't think this is an opening hand. I think 3S= is a likely outcome after any start of the auction so I'll go with

a-b = 0
a-c = 0
b-c = 0
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

a: 1-P-1N-P-2-P-3-A/P. Making three, -140.
b: 1-X-XX-2-P-P-2-A/P. Making three, -140.
c: 1-2-P-P-X-A/P. Down three, -800.

a-b = 0 IMPs (0)
a-c = 12 IMPs (660)
b-c = 12 IMPs (660)

This is no opening, but if:

1pass .. will lead to 4 Spade -1 +50
1 X XX 2 .. will lead to 4 -1 +50
1 2 pass pass X all pass -3 - 800

AB 0
AC +850 +13
BC +850 +13
Kind Regards

Roland

A: 3 as adam said
B: 3 after 2NT over the double as limit raise or better
C: 2X -800

A-B = 0
A-C = 12 IMPs
B-C = 12 IMPs

a.

1-p-limit raise, reject.
-140

b.

1-x-2*-p
2-end
-140

c.
-800 :)

ab 0
ac 12
bc 12
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Not an opening hand but flat at 3. WTF having west not raise spades AND east reopen with that crap after south overcalls 2. I know we all hate 2 but talk about a biased parlay.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Jack playing 2001 BWS on championship setting says:

a 4se= -420
b 4se= -420
c 4se= -420

a-b 0
a-c 0
b-c 0

Jack agrees with most as he doesn't open 1s on the east hand. This is the only hand out of the 30 that Jack doesn't open 1s with the east hand. FWIW, while we are on Jack's bidding, Jack chooses pass with the south hand over 1s.

I'm flat at -140.

While it would be nice, double dummy, to trap over 1-2 with the West hand, I wouldn't do it with 3 spades, and might not sit for a double from opener anyway.

The whole situation would never arise because I wouldn't open the East hand.
