b: 1♠-X-1N-2♣-3♠-P-4♠. +50.
c: 1♠-2♥-X-3♥-4♠. +50.

a-b: 0 IMPs
a-c: 0 IMPs
b-c: 0 IMPs

This is sort of an interesting play/defense problem with some squeeze possibilities, but I think down one is the likely result on reasonable defense. BTW I would've opened 4♠ here.

Certainly reasonable -- how would you describe the parameters for a (heavy) 4S open?

I may open 4♠ more than most. My parameters are basically 7♠ with three of the top five honors (or 8♠ with a possibly slightly weaker suit), and up to about 14 hcp.

the 3♥ raise provides a good chance of leading ♥A. 2♥ is clearly the worst call here. I think it will be flat normally, but not in the long run.

now west has shown some life so east jumped to 3.

I'm more conservative, but with the same net result: flat, but at -140 in 3♠
