Scoring: IMP

1 P 1 2
3 P 3 P
3 3 3NT P
6 ALL PASS

Get it right and you're in the overalls and a life master.

Get it wrong and you're 1VP short of scratching and still a non-LM chump (apologies to Arend).

Since you present this as a problem, the answer must be don't lead a Spade.

It sounds like the dummy is short in Clubs since it bid Hearts, Diamonds, and showed a Spade stopper.

Since both opps bid Hearts any losers there aren't going away.

Must be a low Diamond by elimination.

Am I a life master now ?

I'll lead a spade. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be almost a LM if I regularly/randomly not lead partner's suit.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Can't find a good reason to make an aggressive lead here.

Small spade for me (not close to making LM).

Really afraid that dummy has KJxx of spades and declarer none with A?? of diamonds, and a spade lead sets up a diamond pitch. Now do we lead a diamond to break up a squeeze (and another when in with club trick?)

I would lead a diamond - I wouldn't want to become LM after bidding like this ;)

Have to lead a

Hands, to my recollection, were:

In regards to the bidding, I was playing with a friend of mine who, earlier in the day when I had raised her preempt, raised me to game. I didn't want that confusion this time, even though I'd let her know that this isn't an invite.

Hi,

#1 Any reason, why I bid 3S in a delayed mode?
#2 What do we know, about openers hand, assuming
3C to be forcing, which is not 100% clear, he has 6
clubs, 3 hearts, he does not care about (?!) about
the partners wastage in wastage in spade.
And unless I am completly mistaken, he intended to
bid 6C after partner responded with 1H, at least for
me, partners bids did not promise add. strength.
Hence he opened a gameforcing one suiter with 1C,
fine, but problematic if he all needs for slams is wastage
in spade.
What do I make of this? I dont think, that opener knows,
what he is doing, hence I am leading a spade.
I could have shortened the argument above, partners suit
and all, but ...

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: Seeing the actual hand, 3D did promise add. strength, but
certainly not this much, hence my conclusion, that opener did not
know, what he was doing, was nevertheless right.
Sometimes they get lucky and you loose, most of the time you win.
With kind regards
