I agree that the squeeze doesn't work, but there's an endplay. Cash 1 diamond, play 3 rounds of hearts, and east is toast (low club sets up a simple squeeze against him in the blacks). It's the kind of thing you might actually stumble into accidentally.

Many commentators were suggesting ducking the opening lead, and I don't see how to make it after that.

it's probably a double dummy line (I had an inkling but to flesh out the details had to resort to gib )
if you win the first trick (this is the line karlson mentioned):

east is now endplayed. if he exits a spade we get 3 spades, 4 hearts, 3 diamonds and 2 clubs
if he exits a club, we get 2 spades, 4 hearts, 3 diamonds and 4 clubs, as the spots lie favorably.

now suppose we duck the opening lead

♦ exit by east, safest
♦ cashed, east shows out
♥ A,K,T (pitching two clubs and a spade)

fairly straight forward double squeeze after west shows out in spades and east in diamonds. the double threat is clubs. This assumes you duck a heart while maintaining control for 4 heart winners and time you entries.

Or if you cash heart AK and duck a heart, EAST is endplayed and on the club return it becomes either a simple hook (if he returns teh club jack) or a simple black suit squeeze on east (if he returns a small club)

How do we get 4 ♣ tricks?
In any case you need 3 only. and your 2nd line works .After first 5 tricks are played you seem to reach the same position.

Must be too early in the morning for me, how do we get 4 clubs if East exits a small club?
