Funny series of three hands at the Cincy Sectional today. Early in the session, P-1a-P-1b-1NT. Overcalled 1NT (not playing sandwich) white on red with a balanced 9 (AAJ). The opponents asked pard what I held. As I was a passed hand, pard said "9-11, balanced." The opp's did not believe her, thinking I held 15-17 (despite passing initially). They missed a game because of this, called the director, reported the "psychic," and warned other players we were coming and psyched a lot. This was funny, of course, but it gets better.

In the last round (2 boards), we needed a lttle something. The first one. P-1a-P-1b-1NT-P-P-P. Again, AAJ and balanced. Squeeker for +90 and a near top.

Next board. P-P-P-1a. I held six HCP's. Not quite enough! So, I passed. P-P-P-1a-P!-1b-P-1c-1NT!!! This time, I held 6-8, of course. This was passed to Opener, who, red on white, could not stand it. 2NT! This went off one, for +100. We won our section with these two!!!

Gotta love the Grabbit 1NT overcall, eh?
