I have learned to my cost that it is almost always a disaster to overcall 1NT with GiB as partner, in any way let alone the exquisite masochism of the 2♣ unknown single suit.
But like Charlie Brown with Lucy and the oval ball I consistently forget and try to play bridge, at least here it should be able to handle spades plus a minor fig-leaf...
North robot jumps in with a criminally reticent explanation of "Lebehsohl, forces 3♣", South human opponent ignores the only meaningful part of that and passes.
Oh well, they might have game in hearts and defending 2NT should work out all the same?

You know full well GIB assumes double dummy, the 2 cannot cost as you can underlead the king. Of course, you don't know this single dummy, but it's standard GIB stuff.

(Actually, I think A denies the K for GIB too, though its leads against NT were never very clear).

Good bidding by N/S to avoid the hopeless 5♦ contract. Good defense by E/W to hold the contract to 9 tricks. Lesser opponents would have allowed more overtricks.
