I've encountered a strange bug in BBO. Somehow, the software seems to have copied a post-code from an outside document I completed and bizarrely, when I start a chat message, this post-code appears first. I can't seem to disable this. Anyone met this before?
I'd really appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.
John

I speculate that the bug (or whatever) is causing your clipboard's contents to be displayed - had you copied the postcode?

Chrome in particular is known to be very aggressive when it comes to auto-filling fields it thinks should contain an address (typically for no reason at all, like it found a word ending in 'code' somewhere in the vicinity of the box).
If it is autofill, there may not be a site-specific solution but there are global ones.

I also suspect that it is Chrome auto-filling the Chat box, since one of my friends has reported this. I just disabled auto-filling and I've not heard any more. I suspect it was a Chrome upgrade rather than anything that BBO is doing.

I have encountered Chrome aggressively auto-filling certain fields when creating a tournament, so this certainly can happen with BBO.

It's not just the chat box. It also happens in the partner field when inviting someone to play in a pair tournament.
It's on our known bug list, no idea when we'll get around to fixing it. It's annoying but not a serious problem.

Anyone figure this out.....Chrome keeps trying to put a word in, whenever I try to chat in the lower box. It is very annoying. How to get rid of??

I once managed to get rid of it for a little while by using the arrow keys and then pressing Delete to delete it, but they came back. I don't think there's any real way to stop it.
