Hi there

Has anyone else been experiencing painfully slow play by the bots

It could just be painfully slow everything but very noticeable with 3 bots

Thanks

P

EDIT Seemingly the discussion forum is painfully slow too :)

Sometimes.
I find they pause when they have the King - it's a dead giveaway.

I have noticed that the performance of the client has gotten significantly worse this year and enormously worse over the last couple weeks

I am assuming that this is related to serving ads (cuase nothing else client side feels that costly)

Actually, the 'pausing' - it really does happen - is clearly completely random.
GIB pauses during bidding and play in tournaments, challenges and casual.
I think that there is a 'race' format where this doesn't happen but I can't recall which one.

I've taken it as a valuable learning experience. Since the pausing by GIB is random and meaningless, I now ascribe absolutely no significance to pauses by human opps.
This has dramatically enhanced my focus on working out where the cards are.
Hopefully, I'll see a benefit from it!

I used to 'infer' all kinds of things from breaks in tempo and pauses. Robot Bridge has shown me what a waste of time that is - so to speak.

Thanks for the comments

My table gradually ground to a halt over various hands

I suspected problems in the client/browser/OS/local network side of things :)

Sometimes I have felt that the bots demonstrate a certain attitude from time to time. maybe they didn't like some of my bids
I had made a few flexible interpretations of opening bids earlier in the session

Go to Options>Advanced>Super Advanced>Top Secret and enable the "Zap GIB with electrical overload".

After GIBs get zapped a few times, that will make them play twice as fast, but with twice as many bad plays.

I obviously swallowed the red pill.
Or maybe the blue pill and just think I swallowed the red pill.

I don't know if it was the cause but I had been neglecting my router maintenance for a while, did a long overdue check and noticed a possible flood of something at one of other ports, possibly when playing bridge. Sadly I neglected to check where it was from and which port. Even my paranoia can't cope with current stress levels. You don't get much information I think my router can't store much

EDIT. Another similar flood this morning so maybe just a coincidence
