Just checking:
My group play only in the casual area, Relaxed or Private (Aacol) Club. From what I am gathering from experimenting, it seems that if I tick 'invisible' at login then I am visible as logged in to all my BBO friends, but only if I am in the same area (Casual) as they are, and invisible (not logged in) to everyone else.
And if I set up a table as 'invisible', then it is visible to all my friends provided we are all in the same 'Casual' area, but the table invisible to anyone else.
In other words, 'invisible' only applies to those who are not my BBO friends.
Does that cover it, or are there any other implications.
Thanks

Invisible log in, invisible table What do these options mean in practice

Neither has any connection to friends.
An invisible table won't show up in the main list of tables.
An invisible login means you won't show up in the list of online users for anyone; however this doesn't guarantee true invisibility as you may still be seen as active when sitting at a table (or if someone clicks on your profile).

When you login as invisible, people who follow you will not receive a notification that you've logged in if they have this setting on and you will not be on the list of active users. Everyone can see you at a table if you are sitting at a table or kibitzing at a table but only if they look: you will still not appear on the active list.
No-one can chat to you privately (it goes to mail) UNLESS you chat to them first.
I often login invisibly when just checking stuff or kibitzing, mainly because a lot of people follow me and I don't want them being interrupted by a login notification. This often results in them chatting to me rather than their intended target (I never mind, but amazing how often I get a "typ" when I'm not invisible).
As smerriman says, invisible tables won't show up in the main list of tables. However your friends will be able to find you at one through your profile.
I often use invisible tables when I'm preparing hands for a tournament or training when I don't want to be interrupted by people trying to sit.
