Yesterday, I was trying to set up a team game, without success. I was unable to invite players, and that, I think is due to my using the iPad app. I thought that I would be able to just accept the players’ request for permission, But my screen was flooded with requests from people I don’t know, and who didn’t even seem to have a team. One person got in accidentally, and didn’t even seem to have a partner!
I have learnt my lesson, and will in future use the web version if I am setting up the game myself. Is there a way, on either version, for me to bar invitations and requests from strangers?

Is it because I was using the iPad app?

I don't have an iPad but the Android app has the same interface as the web version so I doubt it is the app itself. You probably just tapped Create too soon, as can also be done on the web version.
On all versions, put +private+ in the description; this will prevent anyone applying to play in your game and you will need to invite everyone.
