you are in luck. it merely shows 16+ "points" where "points" are the worst idea ever. now what?

all roads other than pass lead to a disaster, at least you didn't bid 4NT like in some of the other posts:)
if you had one more club than you might have tried 4NT but I never really felt like GIB will take pull of 5 diamonds to

5 hearts as showing hearts and clubs

South's double seems reasonable The NS bidding isn't so bad. With sight only of the NS hands, you wouldn't mind defending 6♠X, bid unilaterally by a player you rate as rubbish.

well nigel, gibbo's 4S in this sequence is almost 100% 5S. therefore the double is not THAT risky. pard is marked with some lengt5h somewhere.
