Depends on system. If playing Strefa/Polish C, you have an easy 2N rebid.
Playing standard or 2/1 I bid 3NT to show a solid C suit and some goodies outside.

How about 3C? As much as I like to land on 3NT, I'd prefer it to be played from partner's hand, even though it would be the weaker one in this case.

I would just bid the natural 3c, yes this is max for the bid, i have good points, but i also have a single in partners suit, i think any other bid is much worse.

most play 3nt to show a long minor suit, with no such suit and 18-19 hcp you bid 2nt. I think its usually show 7 can suit and weaker hand, like 15 hcp, but this can be good here (i picked 3c but maybe 3nt is better).

I believe that opps are more likely to have a fit in spades rather than in hearts, so my partner's high card(s) in spades need more protection than my HK.

We could not even have a spade trick, and be able to make 3NT only because the lead is much less likely to be a spade if partner is the declarer. Would you lead a spade if you are East knowing that your lead could provide the vital 9th trick?

i should put 2/1 system in m post,
we play 3c rebid as invitational, and 3nt is not defined in our cc.

i don't like 3nt here, as 3nt does a preempty job on both opps and my partner.
it probably works better in MP instead of IMP, or not ?


i prefer 2d, lying the diamond length, however, it delivers the club length and strength, much better than 2nt, plus the bidding level is low.
if partner raised diamond directly, i could always pull back to 3nt, showing stop.

I think after 3N, north should pull to 4C. This is a slam try. After that, I am sure you will find 6C at least.

Does anybody have an agreement about the auction 1C-1S-3NT-4H? Many people play that a new suit at the four level is a cuebid for the last bid suit (here clearly clubs) but perhas this should be an example to this rule.

I would bid 4♣ over his 1♠, it's doubtful that I want to play in 3NT, and if he has a solid spade stack, he can bid 4♠ still. Once he sees my bid of 4♣, he will be more enclined to bid 4♥ over that to show first round control, that's all we need to make 6♣

Your partner may well have a fit after he bids 4S and this dummy tracks. (Fit showing jump, or perhaps fit inducing jump?).

In a well oiled partnership a 4C bid here usually shows 4 card support and solid Cs.
