If only there were a way to find out we were missing an ace . . .

I also always find it confusing in GIB that both a 3NT opener and bidding 2C and then rebidding 3NT seem to show the same thing.

Yes, HCP suggests that 7♠ isn't even a consideration
25-27 plus 6 = 31-33 hcp plus a singleton and a doubleton and .♠ length. Gib is counting self as 11+ pts it must be using support points (total points) when bidding 7♠ which might OK, but needs to look at HCPs to determine if off 2 Aces or even AK in one suit.
Find out if 6♠ is possible before bidding a ridiculous 7♠

based on a few tests, GIB will always do the following with 25-27 balanced:
-Open 3NT with 4333 or 4432
-Open 2♣ and rebid 3NT with a 5 card major and 5332
-Open 3NT with a 5 card minor and 5332
-Open 2♣ and rebid a suit with a 5 card suit and 5422

If this is accurate, then South's sequence shows 5 of a major with no other 4card suit. If that's so, the description should read: 2-3♣; 2-3♦; 2-5♥; 2-5♠; 25-27 HCP. But, GIB's system notes also say that GIB doesn't open 1N with 17HCP and a 5card major, so I wonder if OP's sequence actually shows 25-26HCP (w/5card major) in GIBberish. And I wonder how responder can get opener to name his major.
