2HX
from above hand
bidding went P-1-1-P
P-2-P-P
X- all pass
surely this is my first opportunity to double it must be takeout.
Description of double said i had biddable hearts(so it thinks PEN), but if i had hearts and the values for a double surely i would have earliear bid the approriate level of NT

I think I know GIB's problem. When I open your link in a Chrome browser, Google translate tells me that "this page is in Galician" and asks if I would like to translate it.

If balancing double, what shape you had initially and passed 1. You could bid as well your minor/s or 1NT.

What shape would like to balance that doesn't bid 2, didn't bid minor, no NT either. And later reopen with double ( passed hand initially and partner doing simple overcall - limited ).

It's more likely to have values not suitable for 1NT like void spade and 5+ or similar.

If 1 doubles 2 that's more likely balancing and take out.

I agree with steve, this should be takeout -- the actual West hand is perfect for this bid.

Alternately, 2NT could show this hand, but GIB thinks this is natural as well. This is impossible -- if it had a hand that wanted to invite 3NT, it could have bid 2NT over 1.

GIB actually thinks West's hand is worth a 2 bid on the previous round.

Yes, if you translate "A" from Galician it will make it "The", iow it inserts "he" whenever a suit contains an ace. So everybody gets too many hearts. GIB will try to adjust its bidding strategy to a situation in which there may be 20+ hearts in the board. So most doubles show hearts, whether you double hearts or some other suit.
