Imps - 2/1 regular partner udca.

You lead the T which partner wins with the king. Partner leads the 9 which holds(you encourage with the 3), she continues with the 6 which you win after covering declarers king. Low spade pitched in dummy.

Whats the plan?

I don't see anything besides playing T of clubs and hoping he misguesses it.
We already have 3 tricks with A coming so there is not much reason for him to play clubs on top I think.

. I dont really think it matters which one you lead. I'd probably lead the 5 against an average or worse player and the 9 against a good player that I thought respected me.

If declarer has 5 club tricks, he's getting 5, 2, and the A, so a spade or a heart gives up the 9th trick (we dont really think partner has 5 hearts, right?).

Even if partner overcalled on 5 diamonds, and declarer holds Q9x, which is certainly possible, declarer will need the clubs to come in to come to 9 tricks. So what am I assuming?
* Partner didn't overcall 2D with Kxxxx(x) and the A
* Partner didn't return the 9, then 6 from J96(x).

But even if partner has the spade ace and started with only 5 diamonds, declarer can only come to 5 clubs and 3 diamonds.

We know he didn't, because declarer would have covered the first heart holding KJx.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
