In an IMP-pairs tournament, you reach 7♠ (vulnerable) on south's hand, after a bidding sequence best forgotten (but where south's distribution was concealed, but had shown a club and heart control after opening one spade). What is the best line of play after a trump lead of the 6? (east follows with the 8)

Without looking too much into detail, it looks like a complete cross-ruff is in order. Win in dummy, cash the ♥A throwing a diamond, ruff a heart, cash the ♦A throwing a club, ♣AK, club ruff, heart ruff, diamond ruff, claim on a high x-ruff.
Assuming I haven't missed anything, I need West to have at least 3 hearts, East at least 3 diamonds and clubs to be 4-3 or west having 5. Any of the above in addition to either opponent not having a trump to ruff with if they are out too early.
edit: gnasher's line below is better %age wise when trumps 2-1, only needs 1 suit to behave reasonably.

Win in North, ruff a heart, cross to ♣A, ruff a second heart, ruff a diamond, ruff a third heart high, ruff a second diamond, ruff a fourth heart high, ruff a third diamond high, draw the last trump. With trumps 2-1, that works unless a red-suit is 8-1.
With trumps 3-0, I think we'll need to cash the top cards and crossruff instead.

... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
