All white at Swiss teams, playing 2/1 with a weak nt with a good partner but in an unpracticed and unfamiliar partnership you have the following:

agree with Wayne, got 2 more keycards than expected and only 1 of them will be useless so must raise, I´d try 6 pick a grand.

Pard has some 55 or 65. That 2NT was a ridiculous bid, caused by system insufficiencies, which precipitated this follow-up.

Anyway, now 6D. Who knows, it might make.

You need a lot of tens.

B-) P must have something for their 6 bid and they don't have many aces. True, a 5-1 break is probably more likely than an opening ruff and if P doesn't have 10 we may be able to ruff one to make sure they're good, but it may put strain on the s. The other thing is the few extra IMPs for 7NT vs 7. By mentioning that, I'm accepting that 7 may be safer after all ;)

Partner's actual hand on this was:

x
KQxx
x
AJT9xxx

so 7nt is cold.

Our team mates on these hands continued 6 over 6, which was corrected to 6 which they played on their 4-2 fit. Hearts were 4-3 and clubs not 4-0 so they made all 13 tricks. This won 2 imps opposite our opponents who bid:

2nt - 3(puppet)
3nt - 4(key card gerber)
4 (3 As) - 5 (count of kings)
5 (1 K) - 6

and also made 13 tricks.
