You turned off downvotes. well done, great accomplishment. How about turning off upvotes too, then? The things are pointless, nothing more than a popularity contest. I see more upvotes on random snarky comments and bad jokes than I do on bridge advice posts from international competitors. As someone pointed out, they're nothing more than a BBF equivalent of matchpoints; basically a lifetime achievement award.

Over the last few years we've lost several really good posters to other sites; sites which do much more post filtering and proper moderating. Complaints from our remaining world class players have been largely ignored. I'm enjoying reading the crap on here less and less these days. Authoritative posts by random clueless dolts in the A+E forum? obnoxious "better than thou" comments in the B/I? ugh.
