I also wish there was a way to search a particular thread. When it gets up to 12 pages I'm not exactly eager to read the whole thing just to see if my particular issue had a prior mention. :(

I've not noticed this before, but perhaps I just wasn't looking -- there is a way to do this. The search box at the top right of the screen, when you're in a thread, gives you a drop-down option of 'this topic.'

I really hate how the new diagrams don't work well on non-desktop browsers. It wouldn't be hard at all to throw a basic ASCII diagram in a <noscript> tag, or better yet just give us a user preference.

ASCII hand diagrams! That would be great. Also would be great if played hands could automatically be saved in ASCII...

Actually, they often don't work in my preferred desktop browser (Konqueror 4.4.5 on Kubuntu lucid). It is quite annoying.

Like the new colors - the Members lists are legible now!

Weird stuff going on with times - are the times now taken from people's computers instead of the server?
e.g. this post immediately followed by this post four minutes earlier.

And currently the latest post in the BBO support forum is today, 11.20 in the Confused Score Pad thread, yet on the front page it says that the latest post is at 11.17 in the Forum Insecure login thread.

Also in the last couple of days it has been hard for me to convince the software that I have read the latest posts, they usually stay marked as unread for some time however many times I refresh the browser, press the Mark As Read button, etc, has something changed that would affect this?
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I've also had this problem, and being a bit OCD, it bugs me to see an unread forum. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what threads it happens on, but I've had problems at least 5 times today.
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

Thanks. Gerardo fixed the timestamp issue.
Perhaps unread post too (if related to the time problem), but it hasn't happened to either of us yet so more details will be useful.

In the normal version I can't see the users' avatars, except in their profiles. In the mobile version there's everyone's avatar by their posts. Why is this? I think it used to look nice in the old forums when the avatars were right by the posts.

I happen to think that the new yellow bar just adds to the visual dissonance, the red bar was a little bit ugly until now but the yellow made it worse. But I see other people don't care so much so you shouldn't change it only because of one voice.

Make that 2 who don't care for the yellow bar, nor the red.

I don't mind the red one but the new yellow one is highly annoying.

The edit button does not work for me in Chrome. Neither do the buttons from a user profile (About me, Topics, Posts). They work in Internet Explorer, though. Anyone else have the same problem?

Smilies from old posts (2009 as well) seem to have disappeared.

An annoying thing about the new forums: I can apparently no longer search for words in topic titles. I don't understand why the new search is supposed to be working better when this very useful option was taken away.

Why isn't there an icon in the toolbar for entering a handviewer link?

can you elaborate please?

You mean like this? (Just copy/paste the link. it translates into a hand diagram automatically)

Barry:

The icon is in the toolbar of any post window.

It is a black spade in a white background.

Rain:

Do not use direct links, use the [hv] tag, it takes care of size and comments.

If I click on that icon, it pops up a dialogue where I have to enter the hand diagram. I would like something I can use with the link created when I export a hand to a handviewer link, or a hand in myhands.

I know how to do it by hand, I was suggesting that there be a tool to simplify it. We have toolbar icons for the suit symbols, which are much easier to do by hand (I never even use those icons), why not this?

It significantly decreases the enjoyment of old threads that the smilies disappeared. I guess it's not a priority, but it would be nice if they re-appeared...
