One workaround is to click "reply" on the message containing the hand and copy/cut the part of the post that contains the hand. I changed some settings around, just for fun.

eg. here is the hand from the OP in:
http://www.bridgebas...954#entry503954

Yes, I can do that for another REPLY in THIS Forum..... but I can't "transfer" the hand
to say a "blank new e-mail" page ! !

If there's only one hand and an auction being shown, it would be good to have them side-by-side instead of stacked, to save space. Same for one pair and the auction, I would think.

well
one thing that seems to work is the following.
construct a URL:

here is the releavant code from the handviewer:
[hv=pc=n&s=skq95ht65dak19xxc&d=e&v=b&b=0&a=p1d2c2s5c&]133|200[/hv]

Take everything after hv=p and before the &] copy it and add it to the following line:
http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?

to form:

http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?c=n&s=skq95ht65dak19xxc&d=e&v=b&b=0&a=p1d2c2s5c

result:

Hand you can link to an email!

Now, it would be really nice if one were able to save the resultant page as an image to attach to an email, and there are ways to do that, but they are system/browser dependent.

---

you can also view source and find the relevant line from there to cut/paste the link to the hand.

North................ South
A K 8 x x....... Q 9
J 9 x x........... A K x x x
Q J................ A x x
K 9............... A x x

And what happened to the " space generator" so I would not have to use all of those little "dots" above ?

BUT now the hand I've posted above ( which was very time cosumming ) can be HIGHLIGHT-COPY-and-PASTE to a blank e-mail page since I did not use the "Hand Editor" .

My iphone can't seem to cope with the new diagrams, at least it consistently can't load Post 101 in this thread.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I see an active user called "Google" every now and than. It is displayed, but you can't click on it to get to the profile.

Does that mean we can search the forum content using google some time soon?

Yes, you leave him a personal message with what he has to search for you.

So when will we get to rate posts? Could anyone please tell us?

Yeh, That is important. So, instead of reading the content and either agreeing or disagreeing; the elite can just make value judgements.

I tried to click the "vote down" button, but my quota has been filled for the day, apparently.

Another strange behaviour: when I select View New Content I get a list of posts. If I select one of them I am taken to it. So far so good. If after having read it I use the back button, I don't go back to the list - I get taken to a list with only one post on it, a post that is no longer current.

I suspect that this is linked to reputation, while all of us have reputation 0 we cannot rate comments, but if then some moderator gives any of us as little as 1 reputation then the anarchy begins and reputation spreads and all with positive reputation can rate comments.

Am I the only one who is constantly clicking on "Reply" when what I wanna do is "Add a Reply"?

I suggest Reply button(s) becomes "Quote" button(s)

When I type a fast reply, I sometimes click on "Add Reply" instead of scrolling down to press "Post" and I can start all over.

me too :) the problem is when the fast reply area expands the "Post" button is hidden and the "Add reply" button is right in the middle of the screen. Maybe it would be possible to change it?

Also before I vote on some polls there's a warning which says "other members will be able to see which options you choose" but where can I see which options were chosen by other people?

edit: OK got it, you can click on "view", it looked like plain text in my browser. sorry

I don't like the fact that you can delete your vote in a poll.

Does that mean that reading other people's explanations will never convince you that your initial answer was incorrect?

I like less that the poll owner can change the choices mid-poll without resetting the votes; this is of particular concern when the poll is public.

Yes - that seems wrong.

On a hopefully constructive note for whoever did the programming of this: When the page includes hand diagrams it takes a long time to display. Not only that, when there are multiple posts quoting the same hand diagram it takes even longer. It seems that something is fetching the hand from a seperate BBO server each time. Surely it should be possible for the web server to recognise that it is calling for the same thing more than once and reduce the secondary traffic? This is what the problem appears to be anyway - certainly I get a delay - as much as 10 seconds or so before the first diagram comes up, but the browser still displays the hour glass cursor - later the page is completed - yet when I scroll down there is only the one unique hand diagram.
