If the coice is between defending 2 Spade and playing 3 club, I would choose the first one.

But maybe we need to show support ta give partner a better idea what to do after 3 ?

I have no idea but I would pass and pray.
Kind Regards

Roland

For this one I'd want to know if it was MP or IMPs. I'd be more inclined to bid 3 at MP to fight not to let them play 2M. You'd expect partner is short in hearts which means hearts is their likely fit though so a 3 bid is likely from opponents. At IMPs, possibly overly pessimistically, I'd be worried a little about 4 making and a little about 3X going down so I'd be a bit more worried about bidding.

I guess I'd pass and hope partner leads a trump against 3!

Why didn't I double 1 and avoid this problem?
