So far there has been one scoring correction: Bluecalm/redds had a 4 contract on board 9 scored incorrectly as a 2 contract. This correction jumped them up 7 points moving them past a number of pairs and into the top 11. As we can see, there currently is a tie between two pairs (Flycycle/wackojack and tlgoodwin/timg) for 11th, and if that holds, both pairs advance to upper bracket. Those in "blue" below are in the upper "11" pairs.

Upper Bracket
126 karlson/threenobob
123 East4Evil/sohcahtoa
122 jlall/hanp
121 peachy/lg62
120 olegru - driver733
118 mbodell - javabean
117 elianna/awm
112 lobowolf/bkjswan
111 bluecalm/redds
108 rogerClee/cherdano
106 Flycycle/Wackojack
106 tlgoodwin/timg

Lower Bracket
104 tylere / bid_em_up
100 CanadaGrl/Gerardo
98 gnasher/catch22 <== corrected for board 15 recording wrong contract
96 zasanya/ravia6
94 helene_t-agusaris
93 cascade kermit
90 kfay/jchiu
89 jdonn/gib
88 Hrothgar/Free
83 kristen33/jillybean
83 Siegmund/MSchmahl
81 ant590 - crayzeejim
81 sallyally/joylson
79 mohitz/akjq
67 Codo-Fluffy
0 j0i/gwnn
0 Tomi2-JHDW
0 Vampyr/Lamford

Until scores are final, there is still a chance for further movement between brackets. Second Round is starting Friday to give time to adjust any other unfair scores (either incorrectly entered, or scoring changes due to comments in the forum).

Are these scores final yet? And when does the second round start?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I am going to have to change the scores on a couple of boards. The biggest change it the one where they overcall 4....

Now 5x will be top score,
followed by 4,
then 5,
then 5
then 5 not doubled
then slams still at zero.....

Also, due to complaints, I am removing the requirement that there will be "10"'s on all hands. Biggest change is one board everyone loses 4 points except helene_t.. who had a zero and it stays a zero, but she net gains 4 points on the field.

Round 2 will start tomorrow (hopefully). Unlike last time, I am running simulations on all the hands rather before I use them.

Just be aware that simulations often overestimate corectness of slams but those are easy to evaluate "by hand" usually.

Anyway, whatever you decide I am fine with it obviously. Where does 2nd round ends ? My partner is now at univ world championship in Taiwan and will be back about 12th. I hope we can make it.

With adjustments recommended by forum members, and documented in other threads, here is the final round one standings... first 11 pairs (in bold) are in upper bracket, others in lower bracket.

For Round 2, we will be bidding the hands in bidding rooms to get over a bug in the teaching tables where players could click the movie button during bidding and see all four hands. This will not happen in the teaching tables. As an aside pairs will sit NS for round 2, not east west...

For Round 2, tomorrow I have a very busy day scheduled, so let's start it on Monday and run it the two weeks like before.

UPPER BRACKET
118 karlson/threenobob
117 East4Evil/sohcahtoa
114 jlall/hanp
114 olegru - driver733
113 peachy/lg62
110 mbodell - javabean
109 elianna/awm
103 lobowolf/bkjswan
103 bluecalm/redds
102 Flycycle/Wackojack
100 rogerClee/cherdano

LOWER BRACKET
99 tylere / bid_em_up
97 tlgoodwin/timg
96 cascade kermit
93 CanadaGrl/Gerardo
91 helene_t-agusaris
91 gnasher/catch22
91 jdonn/gib
89 zasanya/ravia6
84 Hrothgar/Free
82 kfay/jchiu
76 Siegmund/MSchmahl
76 ant590 - crayzeejim
75 kristen33/jillybean
73 sallyally/joylson
72 mohitz/akjq
62 Codo-Fluffy
0 j0i/gwnn
0 Tomi2-JHDW
0 Vampyr/Lamford

Ouch....1 point, sure you don't want to double check this again :P

Still not feeling very good about the scoring on bd 1 tbh. If you want to call 5 a 10, fine, but if it goes down 40% of the time staying out of game should be more than a 5.

I'm not sure if we know for sure, but could we post a reminder of how many from each bracket Q for the next round. Is it 4? from the upper Q to the new upper and the rest of the upper and the top 7? of the lower Q to the new lower?

But at a bidding table we can see each other's alerts. I'm sure we can trust people not to press the movie button as much as we can trust them not to be on the phone during the competition.

P.s. The reason why I care about the alerts is in the last round it allowed an opponent to make a natural 2 overcall over a 1 transfer we made, which meant our auction was similar to the other tables rather than getting lucky because of an artificial bid.

Maybe the solution is to pm alerts to operator ?
