I was wondering if there are hands that you would open in 2/1 but not in standard. I'm thinking specifically of hands where you don't have a rebid if the response is 2m.

Something like:
xx Axxxx x AKxxx

I think this meets the usual requirements for an opening in standard, with the exception of not having a rebid after 1H - 2D.

Just curious - and wanting to learn :)

Edit: 13 cards now

Can't answer your question as I am neither a 2/1 or standard player - however, I would call the director - I've got 14 cards :)

This is an obvious opening in any system. In 2/1, you rebid 2 over 2, unless you have agreed that rebidding does not show extras (or shows mild extras only). This does not show 6 hearts so you do not have a rebid problem.

2H shows either 6 hearts or a hand not good enough for a reverse that has a 2nd suit lower than the one responder bid, and also can't bid 2NT.
