I play 1NT as natural, but it shows a better hand than this.
This is a very marginal 1NT overcall of a 1D opening, and a 4th seat NT should be slightly stronger.

Pass seems obvious.

The player at the table did bid 1NT and was rewarded when his partner bid 3NT and he scored up +600. Maybe he knew his customers, lefty opened on a poor 11-count and righty had a queen and two jacks.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Do you have the complete hand avaiable? Was it really needed to come in now because else the bidding will be somewhere where ou cannot compete any further?
Kind Regards

Yup, if you don't bid now it comes back at 1N. Good luck showing your values (or anything about this hand) over that.

Maybe he got a lot of necessary finesses and 3-3 breaks and such. Maybe even some offside finesses led into him. :)

I have to admit, despite a vul game being racked up in practice, I really prefer pass. Even if your opponents would bid as light as they did at the table, I still think a penalty is a lot more likely than finding a game.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
