With 1 less spade and 1 more diamond or w/e I would pass because the upside is really big if partner reopens X and I think it's pretty frequent. Having 3 spades decreases our defensive prospects and increases our offense (possible slam) so I prefer 4H.

I also bid 4♥ with Kathryn's PD's hand. Red vs White and with at least 8 ♠ trapping seems like it might not produce the best result and on a good day, slam is on. PD will almost certainly reopen any hand where slam in on, but if you then pass your really unlikely to set 3♥ enough to compensate for a slam.
However, +800 or +1100 if things go perfect is far superior to 6♠-1. But I still don't like trap passing with a fine trump fit and a nice way to show a real good raise to game. After 4♥ I'll trust PD to sign off with a min and to try for slam with more and also trust that he can stop short of slam if we aren't likely to make it.

Hi,
4H (or 3NT in case you happen to hold the hand Justin mentioned).
The reason is simple: You are very strong, and you hold lots of
controls, if you require that opener needs to hold extras to make
a reopening double (however you may define extras), passing risks,
that you play 3H undoubled.
If you have the agreement to always reopen, ok go ahead and pass,
but than you dont trust partner to reopen, you know he will reopen.
Playing with an pickup partner, you know nothing about, 4H (or 3NT)
are clear cut, making a trap pass is asking for trouble.
With kind regards
Marlowe
