If you had the power to change one event in history what would it be? Not counting wars here as they are always a series of events, though something specific like
the Battle of Waterloo would qualify...
the burning of the Library in Alexandria....

If it is true that the HIV epidemic was caused by a single stupid vaccine producer using chimp serum then I would change that. But I have no clue if that is true.

I think it is interesting that if given the chance to time travel, most people would pick some time in the past to travel to.

Surely there is some future event that would be better avoided. I'd like to travel 50 years into the future, look back on those 50 years and then pick an event in that time frame to change.

Interestingly, you can't travel "back" in time....but we are continuously travelling "forward".... :o

So if you got "there" and you found it to your liking.....wouldn't you be "stuck"? (If you returned you would change that future's past and then it wouldn't be the same as what you saw because your leaving the past to get there helped to create it...

I would have the American Constitution, from the first day of the republic, ban the ownership of one human being by another.

Why start there? It's not like slavery was unique to the American republic.

Change the result of the 1974 world cup final :P

Changing anything political would just replace it with something worse...

I would travel to the semifinal Germany - Poland 3 days earlier, prevent the play in extremely raining and look who wins under regular circumstances.

& ...I would invite John Lennon at the morning of 8th Dec to a cup of coffee.....

In fact there has been a recent movie about a boy trying to change the result of a football match, based on a famous Dutch children's book. The English title is "Crusade in jeans". I loved the book, and now I like the movie.

I normally am quite fond of time travel stories.

Ouch. Hope you're not serious.

Now if you had said MY birth, or Ken's, that would have made more sense.

lol, I would never wish death (or lack of birth) onto anyone else, and if I did it certainly wouldn't be someone who I don't even know other than from a bridge forum.
