Scoring: IMP

1, 1, ?

Playing something close to Bridge World Standard 2/1, you pick up this shapely 17 count, decide to open 1 club, and hear partner bid 1 spade. What is your plan for bidding this hand, with the opponents remaining silent?

What is exclusion key card in Bridge World Standard.

We would play 3 shows a singleton and 4 shows a void. Thereafter we can bid 4NT exclusion key-card. This has the advantage of allowing us to find out about the trump queen below slam.

Anyway even without the Q slam has a play and with it it is unlikely to be much worse than the club finesse even without the A.

I will bid exclusion now even if it is 5.

I only put 2/1, close to bridge world standard to keep people from posting esoteric gadgets from their homegrown system, which, while interesting, are not helpful for the problem. If your gadget is something I've heard of, like mini-splinters and void-showing splinters, I'm ok with that, as they can be played within a normal 2/1 system.

I'd rebid 4, showing the void.

Over 4 I'll continue with 5, forcing partner to bid slam with the K.
Kind regards,
Harald

Won't manage to stop below 5 (be with via splinter or exclusion), so I hope it makes :)

1 - 1,
4 - 4,
4N - 5
5 - 6

Note on the bidding: We don't play exclusion in this partnership. Key card was 3014. Yes, I do know that bidding keycard with a void is not ideal.

King of clubs was offside, but the board pushed, 6S -1 at both tables.
