Clear dbl, IMO. Even if pard passes, we have adequate defensive potential.

Note that pard, with a flattish 11-13 and club length, will not be very keen on reopening, so we have to bid NOW.

At the moment I am convinced by the argument that the player with shape needs to double preempts, and his point count is secondary.

SAKxxx HK'Q'xx Dxxx Cx is my minimum to risk double.
This looks too much like -800 doubled or 4M-2 or 5M-1 when partner bids HIS cards
Pass hoping to decide right if/when partner reopens. That's where this problem lives not in direct seat.

Pas, too often partner will jump in game or bid 3nt not making. Sometimes you have to pay the price of the preempt. I also consider you need at least an extra Queen for double

I don't think this is close to bidding at the 3 level. At some point you must draw the line.

Pass. My overcalls and doubles in the direct seat after a preempt are more aggressive than most, but a 5431 10 count after 3C, wtf?

I'm not even sure I'd open this at the 1 level (although it's close).

Certainly not enough to bid at the 3 level. WOuldn't be surprised to discover that 4S or something was cold, and we couldn't get in the bidding.

Had I had a stiff Diamond and 3 clubs and they had opened a weak 2D bid, I'd still pass. So for me, this hand doesn't pose a problem at all.
Seeking input from anyone who doesn't frequently "wtp", "Lol" or post to merely "Agree with ..."

Pass but I consider it closer than most seem to. It's not hard to imagine bidding working well, but I agree double just has to show more.

This is a clear pass, even tho we can all construct hands and auctions in which bidding 'works'. Big deal: success at bridge requires discipline: even the most imaginative great players stay within their methods 99% of the time, or more.

Pass in tempo: if you pass slowly, partner will be under pressure.
