Part 4 is now up.

Great effort Justin by you and others to put this on You Tube and make it available to mass audience. CTV market is small, ( Canada) and this should spark some interest in bridge around the globe.

By the way, I think they CTV choose wrong timing, it was Easter weekend and also at the same time Regional Tournament in Toronto, so probably not many have seen it anyway.

I ve seen first 2 parts and can say very well done.

Cheers

Yes, great job Justin!

Not to sound ungrateful, I would like to suggest uploading the files to a free storage site, like mediamax.com, so people can download the orginal file - in that way, the quality of the film will be kept as the original - without Youtube "distortion".

Anyway - great stuff!

I've just watched the whole 5 parts and on the whole I enjoyed it, particularly as it features good friends of mine. I dont think Gavin and Vince come out of it smelling like roses though and altogether I'm not sure its a really good advertisment for bridge.

I think they both made some statements they regret they making on film but since 18 months of filming was condensed into 44 minutes you may have to question the context of some of the material.

Worth watching but grab an uncut version if you can (it's in 5 segments on YouTube).

I watched it on You Tube.
I thought it was well done.
It seemed well suited for non bridge players.
Good job all around.

Idea for a book
"Bridge Psychology - and What causes partnerships to collapse and what you can do to avoid this"

In "At The Table" Hamman mentions that Ira Corn hired a psychologist to help Goldman and Eisenberg work on the communications. (not signaling either :)

I likes hearing Kokishs comments too.

It is a very enjoyable program. I hope the ACBL can pick up on it in some form.

Someone should make a movie about Justin. It could star that dude who played Kumar.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Yes, movie about Justin would be really something.. or maybe a reality TV Show?
This can be geared toward bridge audience, life of a young bridge professional?

But I can see TV Exec. already not very thrilled, But maybe enough lobbying can make it happen;)

But they did.

I'm sure Justin was one of the brothers making weird hand gestures in the Bridge is Cool video.

So Vince had immigration problems staying in Australia. Presumably they did not like him taking a place on the OzOne team ... they are reserved for the Kiwis B)

Again, while I think it's excellent that we've all gotten to see the documentary, I'm worried about putting in too many places. I would hate to ruin the production company's chances to distribute the film they invested in.

All the poker TV shows focus on the nerves of steel and the mano-a-mano BS. The after elim interviews are almost as bad as the hi-mom interviews they have with football and baseball and hockey players.

This documentary showed enough of the nerve and edge of the game to get the idea across. The best part was the human interest angle of the story.

If the ACBL would film a couple of "behind the scenes" at major events at the NABCs with no sanitizing........there might just be hope to regenerate interest in our "dying" game. Remember that Ely got things going by stirring the pot and letting the aroma waft out of the kitchen.....c'mon guys, take a chance and roll the dice.....you have nothing to lose, at all.
The Grand Design, reflected in the face of Chaos...it's a fluke!

I talked to Vince on BBO few months ago, he was really excited about playing for Australia and practicing with Del Monte and he fell in love with Sydney. I imagine this must have been big dissapointment for him. He had some issues with Canadian officials during Junior Champ in Sydney, and have said never to play for Canada again, but thats a long story.

Its interesting how his carrer will unfold, but Vince is definitely brightest junior talent in Canadian bridge.

It's great you guys got it up, but when I went to youtube to see it, there was a message saying "This video is no longer available due to copyright claim by Andy Pederson" What's that about? Is there any way to get around it, or is it on any other sites?

That should explain.

It's not on any other sites, someone may have saved it to their computer but I did not and don't know of anyone who did.

Latest information is that Ish Del Monte will now be playing with Stephen Burgess, yes another sheep shagger. (That's what we call Kiwis.)

No wonder we have a healthy disrespect for Australians :)

I found out yesterday that a friend of mine had downloaded it as it got put up, and gave it to me on a CD last night. If anyone wants a copy, I've got it, but I don't know if the parts are too big to be emailled or not.

By the way, I am an aussie, I wouldn't start making fun of us or the kiwis if I were you! I have plenty of material up my sleeve to give as good as I get <_< :) :)
