Cheaters? Chill Out!

I just wanted to offer my thoughts on cheaters on BBO:
I couldn't care less about them. They provide for their own
punishment by degrading themselves.
I wish other people would stop obsessing about them.
Online bridge generally isn't (or shouldn't be) serious.
If you want serious online bridge, arrange your own private
opponents or a team match. Or play ftf in tournaments.
Otherwise, chill.
I'm not going try to tell Fred how to run his site, but I wish he hadn't
banned kibbing. It won't stop cheating, and as for a reduction, as I say,
I don't care.
I don't mean this as a flame, but I do get tired of the continual, unhealthy
obsession with cheating.

It's the internet. Obsessive behavior is required.

"I couldn't care less about them. "
I could not agree more to that.
If you look at suspicious boards, you find:
- misunderstanding in pickup partnerships
- stupid play
( Remember this )
Cheating cannot generate tricks that are not already there.
If someone gets an overtrick because his opps are too stupid to take what is rightfully theirs, is that cheating?
If someone is stupid enough to double a sound contract, the lucky declarer is cheating?
If someone actually knows what to lead and how to read his partners signals, so that his side gets the tricks the defense should get, should one think of cheating?
A declarer is able to make a difficult contract, should one think of cheating?
Playing against cheaters is not different from playing against world class opps, you get the best possible opps, and you got to pay for each mistake you make.
So if you don't like tough competition join BIL and start bunny bashing.

Amen to all of this.
Lets hope that we've said the last word on the subject.

Wayne, I am REALLY pleased you posted this because now we have an insight into what makes you tick. You want to win and show your superiority at all costs. You clearly get far less satisfaction from playing well than you do from showing your intellectual superiority by burying your opponents. I guess you DO play for sheep stations. It all makes sense now.

I know that many would like the subject of online cheating to end, but I need to respond.
ok, so I will try to play and bid like an expert. I am up to that challenge. But there are a few people (note I say FEW) who make nonexpert bids and plays that really punish the opps. Plays and bids that cause me to suspect that someone at the table can see all of the hands. I have had a couple of unfortunate experiences against one pair in ACBL games.
For example: One individual raises his partner's 1 spade response to his club opening to 2 spades with 4 spades, 17hcp and a void! His partner had 5 hcp. The auction is passed out there.
another example --same individual (but not played against me this time):
AK...AKQ...AKQ10865..Q
the individual opens 2 clubs, partner responds 2 diamonds and the opener now bids 3nt. ppp. You would think this might be a good board, that 6 clubs is cold? Well, no. One opp has 5 clubs to the J. Oh, and partner has the king of diamonds... This hand was worth a 100% mp score for this pair.
